All About Sleeves is a great follow-up to Pattern Making 101 offering those skills to achieve that beautifully tailored garment. Topics of discussion will include:
1) proper measuring of the arm and how to alter the pattern accordingly
2) how to calculate the perfect amount of sleeve cap ease
3) what to do with those elbow darts! and
4) common and popular sleeve designs
Working hands-on, students will develop their own reference pattern making notes. Course content will also include the construction of a set-in sleeve, continuous lap and cuff. This course will be jam packed with serious skills! Register here
Our instructor, Wendy Eakins, is a former Instructor in Pattern Drafting & Construction at University of Fraser Valley, and at the University of Manitoba. She has worked as a pattern maker in manufacturing, and most recently over the last decade, worked at as the Senior Cutter & Stitcher at Alberta Theatre Projects. She continues to work at Vertigo Theatre and Theatre Calgary, and she is looking forward to sharing her knowledge with you!

*Intermediate sewing/ patternmaking skills, Pattern Making 101 or equivalent experience are the recommended prerequisite for this course.
*This class is the prerequisite to all other pattern making classes offered through the Riyoko studio
Class fees include all supplies except rulers, tape, and fabric scissors. Rulers are available for purchase from the instructor during the class.
